Original job description

The Company

Red Ram Truck Parts & Service is an Alberta family-owned business that has been in operation since 1978. At Red Ram, we strive to be the industry leader in providing quality heavy duty truck parts and services to owner-operators, small/medium sized fleets and large multi-national corporations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team as Service Shop Foreman.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic and engine expertise who is looking to take the next step into a leadership position while remaining actively involved in the shop. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for the team, support shop operations, and play a key role in mentoring and developing apprentices and technicians.

What Will You Do?

Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians and apprentices
Support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines
Serve as the primary technical resource for complex engine, drivability, electrical, and aftertreatment concerns
Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians through hands-on training and coaching
Monitor shop productivity and workflow, helping ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
Work closely with the Service Manager to identify and address operational challenges that impact shop performance
Review repairs and diagnostics to support quality workmanship and consistent repair processes
Complete repairs and diagnostics as required while leading by example on the shop floor
Promote a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment

Who Are You?

You're a Journeyman HD Mechanic and have a passion for all things mechanical.
You've spent lots of time "on the tools" and are viewed by your peers as a subject matter expert.
You love working with your hands and don’t mind getting those hands dirty.
You enjoy leading a team and sharing your expertise.
You own your results and let your work ethic set the tone for the team.
You have communication superpowers and know how to use those skills to create an inclusive environment where our technicians feel heard and appreciated.
You’ll be the spark that ignites our team’s energy. Your infectious positivity turns every workday into a celebration by creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone can learn and succeed.
You're adaptable and can juggle multiple tasks like a pro; keeping the chaos at bay by prioritizing and tracking task completion and making sure that nothing slips through the cracks.
You have the ability to put people at ease and excel at building rock-solid relationships.
You enjoy embarking on epic problem solving quests to conquer challenges and unravel mysteries with solutions that will impress our customers and elevate the entire organization to new heights.
You understand that sharing your knowledge with others is an essential pillar to an effective workplace.
You’re looking for a long-term opportunity with an organization where you can contribute, learn and grow.
