Original job description
Our client is a successful, privately owned North American manufacturer producing everyday consumer products for some of the largest retailers and most recognized brands in the marketplace.
With multiple manufacturing facilities across Canada and the United States, an established customer base and considerable opportunities for expansion, the company is looking for an accomplished Vice President of Sales to help shape its next chapter.
This isn't simply a position managing an existing sales organization. It's an opportunity to build something.
Based in the GTA, you'll inherit an established business, strong customer relationships and an experienced team, with the mandate to accelerate growth, develop new business and introduce the tools, processes and accountability that will take commercial performance to another level.
Reporting directly to the President, you'll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the organization, with the support and resources to make it happen.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive Growth: Identify and secure major new business opportunities with leading retailers, consumer brands and companies seeking manufacturing partners.
- Develop Strategic Relationships: Expand existing accounts, build long-term customer partnerships and lead complex commercial negotiations.
- Lead and Develop the Team: Build a high-performing sales organization through coaching, clear objectives and individual accountability.
- Modernize Sales: Introduce effective CRM, forecasting, pipeline management and performance measurement to create a more disciplined, results-oriented organization.
- Influence the Business: Work closely with senior leadership, Operations, Finance and Product Development to translate commercial opportunities into profitable manufacturing programs.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an entrepreneurial commercial leader who knows how to win business, develop people and deliver results.
You'll bring:
- Senior sales leadership experience in contract manufacturing, private label, consumer products or a closely related manufacturing environment.
- A demonstrated record of securing significant new business and developing major customer relationships.
- Experience leading sales teams and improving organizational performance.
- The ability to introduce sales systems, processes and accountability that produce measurable results.
- Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen and an understanding of manufacturing economics.
Experience developing manufacturing partnerships with major consumer brands or managing substantial private-label business would be particularly valuable.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
How often do you get the chance to join an established, successful business and help determine what its commercial future looks like?
You'll work directly with ownership, influence important business decisions and have the opportunity to build an organization that reflects your leadership style.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of both winning business and building the team and infrastructure to support continued success.
Compensation: $180,000–$225,000 CAD base salary, plus a performance-based bonus.
Location: Toronto, with regular travel throughout North America.
This confidential executive search is being conducted by Red Rover Recruitment.
