Company Description Reeves Richarz LLP is a Canadian full-service law firm that provides both corporate and personal legal services. Role Description The Associate will work full time in a hybrid capacity, primarily based in Toronto, ON, with some flexibility to work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a caseload under the supervision of senior counsel, drafting pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and other legal documents, and conducting legal research and analysis to support client matters. The Associate will attend client meetings, negotiations, and, where appropriate, court appearances or hearings, while coordinating with colleagues across practice areas. The role also involves reviewing and interpreting legislation and case law, maintaining accurate file management, and contributing to firm initiatives, business development activities, and practice group meetings. The Associate is expected to demonstrate professionalism, strong client service, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in Ontario, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Experience or strong interest in one or more of the firm’s practice areas (e.g., insurance defense, real estate, family law, wills and estates, or related civil litigation).
Proficient in legal research and analysis, including use of major legal research platforms and interpretation of statutes, regulations, and case law.
Strong drafting skills for pleadings, motions, contracts, opinion letters, and client correspondence, with attention to clarity and accuracy.
Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters professionally.
Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple files, meeting deadlines, and maintaining detailed records.
Comfort using standard office and legal practice management software; familiarity with document management systems is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment while exercising sound judgment and independence when required.
Prior experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred; litigation or insurance-related experience is an asset.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical and professional standards.
