Original job description

Referment is working with a financial-markets technology business whose analytics help major institutions identify potentially abusive trading activity. Its approach combines quantitative modelling, large-scale trade-data analysis and practical markets expertise.

This is a customer-facing quantitative development role within a professional services team. You will work with former traders and structurers to understand each institution’s needs, translate its trade data into useful analysis, and build tailored market-surveillance metrics. The position offers a blend of quantitative modelling, hands-on technical delivery and direct stakeholder engagement.

The Role

Work directly with customers to understand their surveillance requirements and analyse the trade data behind them.
Design, implement and validate bespoke market-abuse metrics and quantitative models.
Support proofs of concept and the technical onboarding of new customers.
Configure systems, run data batches and troubleshoot implementation issues during delivery.
Use a specialist large-scale data language for pricing, modelling and analytical work.
Coordinate with engineering, sales and other internal teams to deliver customer work to agreed priorities.

What We're Looking For

Commercial programming experience with C#, C++, Python or a comparable language.
Practical financial-markets experience gained in trading, risk, quantitative analysis or a closely related discipline.
Strong fixed-income knowledge, including an understanding of derivatives.
A sound grasp of risk sensitivities such as Delta, Gamma and DV01.
The communication skills to explain complex analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The judgement to prioritise competing customer needs while maintaining accurate delivery.

Desirable Experience

Experience delivering analytics, models or technical implementations directly to financial-institution stakeholders would be particularly useful.

This could suit a quantitative developer, desk quant, risk quant or technically strong markets professional who enjoys combining modelling and code with customer-facing problem solving.
