We are backed by Insight Partners and are focused on scaling modern technology for an industry long overdue for innovation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering to guide a focused, high-performing agile pod of software developers. This role features a split between hands-on engineering and technical management. You will serve as a key technical contributor to our core Django-based platform while driving daily agile operations, pragmatic unblocking, and translating product roadmaps into structured technical requirements and Jira tickets.

FIRST 90 DAYS FOCUS

Phase

Key Objectives

Days 1–30

System familiarization, deep dive into core Django architecture, and delivering clean, production-ready backend code.

Days 31–60

Establish yourself as a reliable technical contributor and coordinate with product managers on backlog details.

By Day 90

Transition fully into pod leadership, taking ownership of sprint cycles, daily standups, and code reviews.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Hands-On Engineering (50%): Write, review, and maintain clean, performant, and secure Python and Django production code.
Technical & Team Leadership (50%): Lead sprint ceremonies, including planning, grooming, and daily standups for your engineering pod.
Mentorship & QA: Guide developers through constructive code reviews, technical design sessions, and continuous mentorship.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers to ensure technical specs align with the product roadmap.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience in a fast-paced B2B SaaS or product environment.
Mastery: Extensive production experience with Python, Django, REST APIs, and relational databases (Hard Requirement).
Leadership: Pragmatic leadership skills with a passion for unblocking operations and helping developers grow.
Logic: Product-minded logic with the ability to make practical trade-offs between architectural perfection and shipping speed.
Education: A Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.

WHY JOIN US?

High Impact: Join a builder-led team where your work directly shapes the core product used by thousands.
Culture: Hybrid work environment in our Vancouver office.
Retirement: RRSP Matching Program (50% match on the first 6% of your contribution).
Care: Health Spending Account (HSA) and Wellness Spending Account (WSA) administered via RBC.
