We're scaling our go-to-market motion across Canada and beyond, and we are hiring our first Sales Director to own the sales function end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Company Sales Number: Carry the full annual and quarterly sales quota for DetectVision across all markets; you are accountable for both your personal contribution and the team's total output.

Build, Lead & Coach the Sales Team: Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and manage a team of Account Executives and future sales hires; establish a high-performance, hunter-driven culture from day one.

Drive Personal Strategic Deals: Personally lead and close flagship, multi-stakeholder enterprise and key-account deals (regional hospitality groups, QSR chains, large independents) where executive presence is required.

Set the Sales Strategy & Playbook: Build, iterate, and own the outbound + inbound sales playbook, qualification framework (e.g., MEDDPICC / BANT), forecast cadence, and pipeline review rituals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing on demand-gen and positioning, with Product on roadmap feedback from the field, and with Customer Success on smooth handoff and expansion.

Forecast & Report to Leadership: Deliver accurate weekly forecasts, monthly business reviews, and quarterly board-ready updates to the founding team and investors.

Expand the Network: Leverage your existing restaurant / hospitality relationships to open new logos, channel partnerships, and industry referral networks across the local market and Western Canada.

International Expansion: As the company scales, play a direct role in designing and launching the go-to-market for cross-border and overseas markets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Work Location: This is a hybrid remote role based out of Greater Vancouver, BC. The role requires regular in-person client meetings, team events, and on-site presence in Richmond office; candidates must be based in (or willing to relocate to) the Greater Vancouver area.

Proven Sales Leadership: 5+ years of top-performing B2B sales experience with at least 2 years managing and ramping quota-carrying sales teams in restaurant tech, F&B SaaS, POS, or adjacent verticals.
Quota-Carrying Track Record: Consistent achievement of $1M+ annual quotas as both an individual contributor and as a sales leader carrying team quota.
Restaurant & Hospitality Network: Established track record of building and leveraging senior-level relationships with restaurant owners, hospitality groups, and key decision-makers in the F&B industry; an existing network in the local market is a strong plus.
Player-Coach Mentality: Willing and able to personally carry a meaningful individual quota while building, coaching, and developing the team around you.
Strategic & Operational Acumen: Experience building outbound + inbound playbooks, sales process, CRM hygiene, forecasting, and pipeline management from zero to one.
Communication & Executive Presence: Outstanding storytelling, negotiation, and presentation skills; comfortable in the boardroom with founders, executives, and large customer stakeholders.
Hunter Mentality: High drive, autonomy, resilience, and a passion for winning new logos in a fast-paced startup environment.
Native-level business English fluency required.

Compensation & Career Growth

Lucrative Earning Structure: Guaranteed $100,000 CAD base salary combined with 50% personal sales commission plus a team sales override - designed to reward both your individual contribution and your team's success, with $200,000 CAD OTE and uncapped upside on commissions.

Equity: Early-stage leadership role with meaningful equity participation in DetectVision - specific package to be discussed during interview based on experience and stage.

Leadership Track: Direct path to VP of Sales / Chief Revenue Officer as the company scales globally.

Global & Cross-Border Expansion: Play a foundational role in launching DetectVision's sales motion in the US, EU, and APAC markets.
