About Renascent

Renascent is an accredited leader in the addiction treatment field, with a legacy of serving people impacted by substance addiction for over 55 years. As a community non-profit organization, Renascent is committed to its mission of helping save lives through compassionate, transformative, evidence-based addiction and mental health programs, and is guided by values of compassion, integrity, community, diversity and inclusion, and lived experience. Renascent’s accredited treatment programs provide person- centered care within an abstinence-based model, integrating 12-step facilitation with current best practice clinical and medical approaches. A diversity of treatment program options are offered, including community inpatient intensive treatment, virtual intensive treatment, and outpatient continuing care and alumni programs. Due to the impact of addiction on families, specialized programs and support are offered for loved ones and family members, including children.

About The Position

Accountable to the Munro Treatment Centre Manager for delivery of Renascent programs and services to women and those who identify as women that are experiencing addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs; this individual will be contributing to Renascent’s empathetic and collaborative team-based environment. This relief position includes weekly shifts, not excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

Key Responsibilities

Reports to evening Counsellor for review of census and special assignments.
Assures the safety of the treatment center and its occupants at night. This includes checking all doors and windows and touring the entire house hourly.
Centre duties as assigned by management, including light housekeeping, record keeping and clerical duties.
Resolves any client conflicts in an effective and timely manner.
Responds to calls and provides information on Renascent’s programs and services.
Makes notes and reports any problems to the Counsellor(s) that arrive for the next shift(s).
Night shift position (hours to be discussed).
Must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Lived experience of addiction and recovery and active involvement in a 12-Step program for alcoholism/addiction required.
A minimum of three years of continuous sobriety is preferred.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written are essential, including an ability to share life experience for the benefit of the clients.

Responsibilities

Monitor the treatment centre overnight by checking doors and windows, touring the house hourly, and helping maintain the safety of clients and occupants. Handle assigned centre duties, respond to calls and inquiries about programs, resolve client conflicts, and document and report issues to incoming counsellors.

Requirements
