We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as a Quality Specialist in Mississauga, ON (On-site).
Responsibilities:
- Work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; properly use personal protection and safety equipment as required by the client; report any injury or illness immediately; notify the client of any hazards, unsafe acts or conditions in the workplace.
- Perform incoming inspection and sampling of packaging components and raw materials, including customer-supplied materials.
- Perform ID testing of raw materials using TruScan.
- Send samples of raw materials, packaging components, bulk and finished products to testing laboratory for analysis against approved specification. Enter samples in LIMS.
- Create purchase orders for testing done at third party laboratories. Close purchase order once testing results are received. Follow up and verify costs of testing with testing laboratories where required.
- Responsible for proper storage and destruction of packaging component, raw material, bulk products and finished products retain samples.
- Perform sampling and release of consumable materials.
- Perform responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner. Identify areas where efficiencies can be improved.
- Support other tasks assigned to you to meet project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred.
- Experience with raw-material and packaging-component sampling, inspection, and laboratory coordination.
- Experience with LIMS and documentation is an asset.
- Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, safety requirements, and quality-control procedures is required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and meet timelines are essential.
Note: Salary is up to $50,000 per year, depending on experience.
