Our client is seeking a contract-based Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, build and deliver ServiceNow solutions across HR Service Delivery, ITSM and employee workflows.

Working in agile sprints alongside architects and business stakeholders, the consultant will build low-code applications in App Engine Studio, quickly prototype new features and deliver tested, documented solutions that meet the client's architecture standards.

Duration: Till end of March 31, 2027 (option to extend)

Location: Hybrid – Ottawa

Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability or Secret (or eligible: 5+ years residency in Canada)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and configure ServiceNow solutions across HR Service Delivery (HRSD), ITSM and employee workflows, including applications built in App Engine Studio
  • Develop, test, demo and deliver solution features in agile sprints
  • Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept to validate ideas with stakeholders
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
  • Triage and fix defects
  • Produce technical documentation for implemented features
  • Make sure solutions follow the client's architecture standards and technical direction

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience
  • Advanced proficiency building applications in ServiceNow App Engine Studio
  • Strong working knowledge of the ServiceNow platform: tables, forms, ACLs and Flow Designer
  • Low-code development experience, delivering apps without heavy scripting
  • Hands-on development experience with ServiceNow HRSD, ITSM and employee workflows
  • Experience with Knowledge Management, taxonomy design and content governance
  • Experience working in agile sprints and delivering rapid prototypes
  • Strong collaboration and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is an asset:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or App Engine Specialist certification
  • ServiceNow Employee Center / Employee Center Pro
  • ServiceNow Studio for advanced scripting
  • Service Portal widgets and Next Experience
  • IntegrationHub, Performance Analytics and UI Builder
  • Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Business requirements gathering

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Strong UX and accessibility awareness
  • Public sector or broader public sector experience
