Our client is seeking a contract-based Senior ServiceNow Platform / Enterprise Architect to assess its ServiceNow platform, define the target operating model and roadmap for a ServiceNow Center of Excellence (CoE), and guide the architecture of ServiceNow Vault security capabilities.

Working with the central platform team, application product teams and leadership, the consultant will assess platform architecture, governance, CMDB/CSDM, integrations, access management and lifecycle practices, then deliver a practical operating model, governance framework and a prioritized 12–24 month roadmap.

Duration: Till March 31, 2027 (option to extend)

Location: Hybrid – Ottawa

Security Clearance: Enhanced Reliability or Secret (or eligible: 5+ years residency in Canada)

Responsibilities

  • Assess the current ServiceNow platform: architecture, administration, CMDB/CSDM, IT Asset Management governance, integrations, environments, lifecycle management, platform health and technical debt
  • Define the target Platform Team and CoE operating model, including mandate, structure, service catalogue, ownership and decision rights
  • Design the engagement model between the central platform team and application teams, including a RACI and workflows for onboarding, architecture reviews, integrations, releases and upgrades
  • Define the platform governance framework and standards for architecture, security, development, integrations, releases and technical debt
  • Provide target-state architecture guidance for ServiceNow Vault capabilities (Code Signing, Data Discovery, Data Anonymization)
  • Build a prioritized 12–24 month CoE implementation roadmap with owners, dependencies and milestones
  • Prepare an executive summary and decision package for leadership
  • Facilitate workshops and knowledge transfer with platform and application teams

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience, including 7+ years of ServiceNow platform architecture
  • Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and enterprise platform management
  • Experience designing platform governance, operating models and Centers of Excellence
  • Strong knowledge of CMDB and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • ServiceNow integration architecture, development standards and shared platform services
  • Release, upgrade, environment and application lifecycle management
  • Experience governing a shared ServiceNow platform where multiple teams build and manage applications
  • Strong workshop facilitation, roadmap development and executive communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is an asset:

  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA)
  • ServiceNow Vault (Code Signing, Data Discovery, Data Anonymization, Field Level Encryption)
  • ServiceNow identity and access management and secure platform practices
  • Organizational design, RACI and resource model development

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Public sector or broader public sector experience
  • Bilingual in English and French
