The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the accounting operations within the regional accounting department. This includes preparing journal entries, maintaining fixed asset records, reconciling general ledger accounts, generating financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. The role also involves supporting the preparation of the annual budget, interim and year-end financial audits, and interacting with operations and management for the analysis and discussion of financial data at both site and regional levels.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts monthly, and perform weekly reviews of the trial balance and subledger details.
- Month End Close Process
- Process customer billings, post credit/debit memos, and support intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including roll forwards.
- Assist with interim and year-end financial audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and standards.
- Prepare and publish periodic financial reports for management such as the daily sales report and past orders due.
- Support physical inventory as needed.
- Perform specialized financial analysis and identify trends or issues requiring action.
- Provide financial and reporting support to other departments within the organization as required.
- Daily Cash Tracking and Reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in preparing general ledger reconciliations and managing intercompany transactions.
- Familiarity with budget preparation and financial audit processes.
- Background in business registration and tax compliance is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems, including modules for AP, AR, GL, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Experience using Netsuite is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Posted Pay Range: $ 65,000 -$85,000 CAD
