Original job description

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Front End / Full Stack software engineer with deep expertise in Javascript/React.

REW.ca is Western Canada’s leading real estate platform with millions of Canadians navigating their home search journeys each month with proven results. By combining innovative technology, deep market insights, and a seamless user experience, REW.ca empowers home seekers to find their perfect home. Our mission is to make real estate a more personal experience, guided by care, empathy, and innovation.

We’ve done this by carefully assembling a team of great people who have great ideas. One of those genius-level ideas is to make REW quite simply the best place in the world to work - and we’d like your help to get there.

And that’s where you come in.

We are looking for a self-driven Senior Software Full Stack Developer (heavily front-end leaning) who offers technical leadership, hands-on development, architecture, and mentorship. This role will help shape the technology powering one of Canada’s most trusted destinations for home buyers and sellers.

As part of our team, you’ll help architect scalable applications, design modern front-end systems, and integrate a wide range of advanced data sets and services. Beyond building, you’ll play a critical role in mentorship, raising the bar for both our codebase and our culture.

With a Great Role comes Great Responsibilities.

Deep experience with a variety of FE development tools and libraries.
Worked on at least 2 production React-based web projects from initial FE stack setup to finish.
Lead the design, development, and integration of front-end architectures.
Work on integrated (FE/BE) architecture and development approaches.
Architect and implement GraphQL-based integrations for scalable and efficient data access.
Have experience of designing shared component libraries in collaboration with UI/UX designers.
Implement unit testing and integrate it with continuous integration tools as required.
Identify and champion front-end best practices, ensuring extensibility, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Provide technical mentorship and conduct thorough code reviews to raise the overall bar for the team.
Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, infrastructure and data platform teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused features.
Own some aspects of release management, ensuring smooth deployments and stable production environments.
Act as a thought leader, influencing technical strategy and contributing to the team’s long-term success.

Who you are is more important than where you’ve been.Who we hope to find.

Proven professional experience in React development with a focus on quality, reliability, delivery and performance.
Advanced knowledge of front-end architecture and design patterns.
Proficiency in HTML5, SASS, CSS3, JavaScript (primarily React while CoffeeScript with ES6+ is a plus).
Expertise in GraphQL integrations and API design.
Demonstrated ability to deliver quality code on-time and on-target, mentor peers and conduct effective code reviews.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and product decisions.
Experience with scaling SaaS or proptech applications. (Nice to have)
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS). (Nice to have)
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and React integration and implementation (Nice to have)
Experience with React native architecture, development and best practice usage (Nice to have)

Why Join Us?

Be part of REW.ca, a leading proptech platform connecting millions of Canadian home seekers with their next property.
Opportunity to shape the architecture and direction of a product at the forefront of the real estate technology space.
Collaborate with a talented, mission-driven team passionate about building intuitive, data-rich, and engaging experiences for home buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals.
Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth in a fast-evolving industry.

What we can offer you.

We understand that you probably skipped from the top right down to here. You’re only human, after all. Here’s the part you were looking for:

Annual compensation for this role is $125,000 - $150,000, depending on demonstrated experience.

In addition to competitive compensation, we provide comprehensive health and dental benefits, pension matching, birthday days off, and team events to keep you connected. We’ll make sure you have the tools to do your best work, from the right equipment to an office stocked with snacks.

At REW, we don’t operate in silos - you’ll have opportunities to work with and learn from colleagues across Data, Marketing, Product, and Sales. With a talented team under one roof, it’s easy to share ideas, collaborate across functions, and gain exposure beyond your immediate role.

Please note, this position requires in-office availability at our Vancouver offices 2 to 3 days per week.

Help us make the best company in the world.
