Original job description
RHEI helps creators and media companies grow audiences, manage rights and build digital businesses. We combine hands-on expertise in content, technology and commercial partnerships to help great content reach more people.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Technical Account Manager for a full-time, one-year maternity leave contract, starting in the first week of December 2026. You will help clients protect and manage their content, take ownership of technical account issues, and keep rights-management work accurate and organized.
This is a hands-on role. You will need to understand how YouTube’s rights-management system works, from content ownership and asset setup to claiming content and resolving issues. Practical YouTube Content ID experience is ideal. We are also interested in people who have worked deeply with comparable rights, content-management or digital media systems and can show that they learn complex platforms quickly.
You will connect the technical work to the client’s needs. That means investigating problems, explaining what is happening in plain language, coordinating the right people and following each issue through to resolution.
Responsibilities:
- YouTube Rights Operations: Manage day-to-day rights workflows in YouTube Studio Content Manager, including assets, reference files, ownership information and claiming content. Check that actions reflect the client’s rights and the platform’s requirements.
- Claims and Issues: Review claims, investigate ownership conflicts and disputed claims, and work with the appropriate specialists to resolve them. Know when to correct an issue, release an incorrect claim or escalate a decision.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Trace problems through content records, metadata, platform settings and reporting. Identify the cause, document what you find and follow the fix through to completion.
- Client Accounts: Be a reliable point of contact for rights-management clients. Understand their priorities, explain technical issues clearly and keep them informed about progress and outstanding decisions.
- Data and Reporting: Check account and content data for accuracy, explain what the numbers mean and prepare clear account updates and presentations. Connect technical issues to their effect on content protection and monetization.
Who you are:
- Technical Capability: You have worked hands-on with a complex rights, content-management, digital distribution or similar system. You can explain how it works, investigate problems methodically and learn an unfamiliar platform without relying on a script.
- YouTube Rights Knowledge: Experience with YouTube Content ID or Studio Content Manager is strongly preferred. You understand, or have the technical foundation to learn, assets, references, ownership, claims, policies and dispute workflows. General advertising or influencer-campaign experience alone is not enough.
- Careful Judgment: You check the facts before acting, recognize the consequences of incorrect rights decisions and know when specialist input is needed. You can distinguish a technical problem from an ownership question that needs escalation.
- Organization and Ownership: You keep accurate records, manage several issues at once and take responsibility for deadlines and follow-through. You leave a clear trail of what was checked, changed and agreed.
- Client Communication: You build trust through clear explanations and dependable work. You can speak confidently with technical teams, senior stakeholders and day-to-day client contacts, and present findings in a concise, polished way.
- Data Skills: You are comfortable working with detailed records and reports, spotting inconsistencies and turning the findings into practical next steps.
- Relevant Platform Experience: Experience with Facebook Rights Manager, content fingerprinting, digital asset management, rights or royalty systems, TikTok rights tools or MediaMatch would be useful.
- Coverage and Handover: Learn the existing accounts and workflows, keep records and priorities current, and make sure open issues and commitments are handed over clearly.
- Other Rights Platforms: Support relevant Facebook rights-management work and learn other systems used by the team. Bring useful experience with TikTok rights tools, MediaMatch or comparable platforms.
