Rightway Recruitment is representing an established electrical contractor delivering residential construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Coordinator to join their team and work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful delivery of electrical projects.
This is a hands-on coordination role suited to someone who understands electrical construction, can confidently review drawings and specifications, and is highly organized when managing procurement, documentation, schedules, and project information.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting projects from pre-construction through closeout, identifying potential issues early and helping keep projects moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of residential electrical construction projects
- Reviewing electrical drawings and completing material and equipment counts as required
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements
- Assisting with project schedules, milestones, and coordination meetings
- Attending project meetings and preparing accurate meeting minutes
- Coordinating procurement of lighting, switchgear, commodities, and other electrical materials
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, Project Managers, and field teams
- Tracking fixtures, distribution equipment, and materials against project schedules
- Following up on backorders and identifying potential impacts to project schedules
- Coordinating shop drawings, including requesting, transmitting, tracking, and documenting submissions
- Assisting with permit submissions, responses, inspections, and closeout requirements
- Supporting the preparation and tracking of change orders
- Identifying drawing discrepancies, deficiencies, design issues, and potential code concerns
- Assisting with the resolution of material defects, change requests, and equipment issues
- Supporting monthly cost-to-complete meetings, WIP reporting, and project billings
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, packing slips, material releases, and project records
- Supporting project closeout and turnover documentation
What You Bring:
- 3–5 years of construction administration, project coordination, or similar construction experience
- Residential construction experience, ideally within the electrical industry, is considered an asset
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong professional integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Technical Assets:
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Electrical drawings and specifications
- Construction project management software
- Document control and project tracking systems
Working Environment:
- Primarily office-based position
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Travel to project sites throughout the Lower Mainland as required
- Some site-based coordination work may be required
- Exposure to residential electrical construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland
- Collaborative environment working directly with Project Managers and Superintendents
- Occasional overtime may be required depending on project demands
Compensation & Benefits:
- $60,000 – $80,000 depending on experience
