Job Description

We are working exclusively with an established technology organization to identify an M&A Associate for their corporate development function. Growth through acquisition is a central part of the company's strategy, and this role was created to strengthen the team responsible for finding, evaluating, and executing new opportunities.

This is not a pitch book role. The person stepping into this position will sit close to the decision-makers and be trusted with real responsibility on live transactions. You will be expected to form a view on a business quickly, back it up with analysis, and communicate it clearly to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Research markets and build target lists to support an active acquisition pipeline
Track pipeline activity and keep opportunity status and data current
Screen incoming opportunities and prepare early assessments of fit and value
Build financial models covering valuation, returns, and key operating metrics
Analyze customer, revenue, and cost data to understand the quality and durability of a business
Coordinate diligence workstreams and keep deal timelines on track
Prepare clear written recommendations for leadership
Help manage the handoff to operating teams after a deal closes
Contribute to internal reporting on performance of completed acquisitions
Take on ad hoc analysis and special projects as priorities shift

What We're Looking For

Solid transaction or deal-related experience at the Associate or Senior Associate level
Background in banking, advisory, investing, or an in-house strategy or deal team
CPA, CFA, or a relevant post-secondary degree
Strong modelling skills and sound business judgement
Clear, concise writing and the confidence to present a point of view to senior leaders
Comfort working with recurring revenue business models is an asset
Self-directed, organized, and able to manage several priorities at once
Interest in building a long-term career in corporate development
