We are looking for a Drafter to support engineering and project teams by preparing, updating and maintaining technical drawings and design documentation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical problem solving, attention to detail and collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

This is a residential role based in Labrador City, NL; fly-in/fly-out is not available. Relocation assistance is provided if applicable.

Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Engineering and working in a challenging and rewarding environment, you will contribute to the successful delivery of sustaining and capital projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

Prepare and revise engineering construction drawings, layouts and technical documentation, with the majority of your work focused on structural drafting and additional exposure to mechanical drafting. Projects may include structural steel remediation, monorails, access platforms and other industrial infrastructure.
Interpret preliminary data, field notes and sketches to develop accurate drawings supporting engineers and project teams, including modifications and upgrades to existing structures and equipment.
Maintain drawing records, document control processes and revision histories.
Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical standards.
Collaborate with engineering, operations and project stakeholders to incorporate design changes.
Assist with field verification and the collection of technical information where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting practices, standards and systems.

A diploma, certificate or qualification in drafting, engineering technology, design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) in AutoCAD and familiarity with Bluebeam or similar mark-up software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage drawing revisions and documentation accurately
A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience is required for consideration for this role

Helpful for Success

Experience supporting structural drafting for industrial, mining, manufacturing or infrastructure projects, particularly involving structural steel, platforms, monorails, equipment-support structures or similar assets.
Familiarity with 3D modelling software and digital design tools.
Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and document control processes.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
