Company Description Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre (RIWC) is a community-based registered charity, founded in 1982, dedicated to empowering racialized, immigrant, and refugee women and their families. RIWC delivers holistic, integrated services that address social, cultural, and economic factors affecting newcomer communities, including settlement, anti-violence, and employment support programs. The organization offers specialized programs such as Violence Against Women and Children, youth anti-violence initiatives, employment pathways, and training in food service, hospitality, and digital literacy for seniors. RIWC primarily supports vulnerable racialized and newcomer women in Toronto who face multiple barriers, including settlement challenges, low literacy and language skills, and limited Canadian work experience. All programs are delivered using an anti-oppression and GBA+ framework, in collaboration with a wide network of community partners, schools, private sector organizations, and government bodies to promote gender equity and inclusion.
