Role SummaryRivian is looking for a Senior or Staff Product Manager to lead the evolution of our web experiences across the upper funnel - from discovery and consideration through configuration, lead capture, and purchase intent. This role will help make every interaction more relevant, useful, and motivating for prospective customers while creating a connected experience across growth, brand, marketing, experimentation, and analytics.
You will operate at the intersection of product, marketing science, data, design, technology, and commercial strategy. You will turn customer and business insights into a clear product strategy, then work with cross-functional partners to deliver experiences that build trust, increase engagement, and move customers forward in their journey with Rivian.
As Rivian moves into an increasingly agentic and personalized era, you will help define how a direct-to-consumer automotive experience should work: responsive to customer intent, grounded in strong marketing fundamentals, and continuously improved through learning and experimentation.
Responsibilities- Own the product strategy and roadmap for Rivian’s upper-funnel web experiences, including discovery, education, consideration, conversion, and re-engagement.
- Partner with Marketing, Brand, Design, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering to shape and deliver Rivian’s personalization and growth efforts across the web funnel.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define how customer identity, context, behavior, intent, lifecycle stage, and other signals can inform what each customer sees and does.
- Define how web experiences should adapt to customer context, behavior, intent, needs, and stage in the journey while maintaining a coherent and trusted brand experience.
- Partner closely with Growth, Brand, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, Research, Engineering, and Design to connect business objectives with customer-centered product experiences.
- Translate the science of marketing - including segmentation, positioning, messaging, attribution, lifecycle thinking, behavioral psychology, and conversion principles - into direct-to-consumer product strategies.
- Partner with business and technical teams to establish a disciplined experimentation practice across the web funnel, including hypothesis development, test design, prioritization, measurement, and synthesis of learnings. Build the frameworks, metrics, and decision-making practices that enable the team to continuously improve relevance, engagement, and conversion - not just run isolated A/B tests.
- Define how search, recommendations, content, and conversational discovery should work together across the web journey.
- Develop a clear measurement framework for upper-funnel engagement and experience quality, balancing leading indicators with downstream commercial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to use AI and agentic capabilities to make web discovery, education, personalization, and decision support more helpful and efficient.
- Bring rigor to customer journey mapping and funnel analysis, identifying friction, unmet needs, and opportunities to improve progression through the purchase journey.
- Create alignment across stakeholders by articulating a compelling vision, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and communicating decisions clearly to senior leadership.
- Partner with technical and business teams across the customer data and marketing technology ecosystem - including CDP, CRM such as Salesforce, marketing automation, content management, experimentation, analytics, and customer journey platforms - to connect signals, audiences, experiences, and measurement.
- Partner with technical teams to define scalable capabilities, data requirements, experimentation infrastructure, and platform investments that can support increasingly personalized experiences.
- Ensure that customer trust, privacy, transparency, accessibility, and brand integrity are considered in personalization and experimentation decisions.
- Coach and elevate other product managers through strong product practices, clear thinking, and a high bar for customer and business outcomes.
Qualifications- Significant product management experience building consumer-facing digital products, web experiences, personalization, growth products, or marketing technology.
- Deep understanding of the web funnel and the ways customers move from awareness and consideration to intent, conversion, and ongoing engagement.
- Strong foundation in marketing science and the ability to apply concepts such as segmentation, positioning, messaging, experimentation, and behavioral design to product decisions.
- Demonstrated experience partnering across marketing, design, analytics, data science, and engineering to advance personalization, growth, and customer experience outcomes through experimentation and iterative product development.
- Experience working on personalization, recommendation, search, ranking, lifecycle, or other machine-learning-powered consumer product areas.
- Ability to connect qualitative customer insight, quantitative analysis, and business context into a clear product direction.
- Experience partnering with brand, marketing, creative, analytics, engineering, and design organizations in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Strong product judgment and the ability to balance short-term conversion opportunities with long-term customer trust and brand equity.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and shaping new product spaces, especially where AI, personalization, and emerging interaction models are involved.
- Technical fluency in the product tradeoffs behind personalization, including signal quality, cold start, feedback loops, relevance, explainability, experimentation, and model or rules-based decisioning.
- A principled approach to trust, fairness, privacy, transparency, and inclusivity in algorithmic and AI-powered experiences.
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
- A customer-first mindset and a bias toward learning, action, and measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive, mobility, retail, travel, financial services, or another high-consideration direct-to-consumer category.
- Experience building personalized, recommendation-driven, conversational, or agentic customer experiences.
- Experience working across customer data and marketing technology platforms, including CDPs, CRM systems such as Salesforce, marketing automation, experimentation and testing platforms, analytics tools, and content or commerce systems.
- Experience designing experiences that span multiple channels or connect marketing engagement to sales and service outcomes.
- Experience operating at Staff level, including setting direction across multiple teams and influencing without direct authority.

Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $132,100 - $165,100 for Palo Alto based applicants, $121,500 - $151,900 for South California based applicants, and $96,800 - $121,000 for Vancouver based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
