Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a Manufacturing & Distribution organization in , Richmond Hill , ON on a 4-6 month Contract basis, 5 days onsite. This position will lead core accounting operations, produce reliable financial reporting, and help maintain effective controls across the finance function. The successful candidate will bring a hands-on approach to managing daily transactions, supporting business performance, and improving financial processes in an inventory-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct daily finance operations across payables, receivables, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Lead monthly and annual close activities, including reviewing entries and preparing complete financial statements for management use.

• Track liquidity needs by overseeing incoming payments, outgoing disbursements, operating expenses, and collection activity.

• Manage inventory-related accounting by monitoring product costing, valuation, and cost of goods sold reporting.

• Strengthen financial governance by maintaining effective controls and supporting compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations.

• Contribute to forecasting, budget planning, and financial analysis to support sound business decisions.

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve the efficiency and reliability of financial processes.

Requirements:

• An accounting designation is required- CPA/ACCA/CA/CMA/CGMA or relevant .

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

• Background in distribution, wholesale, retail, or other inventory-based business environments is preferred.

• Strong capability in full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations, reporting, and period-end close.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage priorities independently while supporting day-to-day operational demands.
