Accounting Manager

The Opportunity
A growing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information, managing month-end activities, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting continuous process improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, accountability, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare bank reconciliations, cash flow analyses, indirect tax filings, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support external audits and ensure documentation remains audit-ready.
- Utilize ERP systems and Excel to analyze financial data, troubleshoot issues, and improve reporting.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and support ongoing finance initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation or working toward completion is considered an asset.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and working with large datasets.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP system.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, proactive approach.
