Original job description

Our client is a growing manufacturing organization seeking a proactive Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys building supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and contributing to strategic business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead sourcing and procurement activities to support operational and business objectives.
Negotiate pricing, delivery, quality, and service agreements with suppliers while fostering long-term partnerships.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
Assess supplier capabilities, performance, and market competitiveness to support informed sourcing decisions.
Monitor market trends, commodity movements, and emerging technologies to proactively manage supply risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Production, Finance, and Quality to support business initiatives.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities related to procurement and supply chain operations.
Develop and maintain supplier scorecards, performance metrics, and continuous improvement programs.
Support new product introductions and supplier development projects.
Manage procurement-related projects to ensure objectives are delivered on time and within budget.

What We're Looking For

Post secondary education/ experience in Engineering, or a related discipline is a must hve
5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and sourcing initiatives.
Exposure to contract manufacturers or external production partners is considered an asset.
Experience sourcing metal components, fabricated parts, or industrial products is highly desirable.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
