Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Data Engineer to support operational reporting, analytics, and business process improvements within a complex ERP environment. This is an 8-month contract based in North Vancouver, BC, requiring full-time onsite presence.
The consultant will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable solutions that improve visibility across inventory, procurement, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and validate business and reporting requirements.
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improved reporting and automation.
- Design and develop reporting datasets, dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reports.
- Extract, transform, and validate data from multiple enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain data models supporting inventory, finance, procurement, and operational reporting.
- Develop advanced Excel, Power Query, and Power BI solutions for end users.
- Create data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Support user testing, training, and adoption activities.
- Document business rules, process flows, data definitions, and reporting standards.
- Partner with stakeholders to continuously improve reporting usability and business insights.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong SQL and data analysis experience.
- Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, Power Pivot, and complex data models.
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Dynamics 365, JDE, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of business processes related to finance, procurement, inventory, or operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- ERP implementation or stabilization initiatives.
- Data integration and ETL processes.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
- Manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience supporting complex operational reporting programs.
