Management Resources is partnering with a large, complex organization within the mining and natural resources sector seeking an experienced Director, FP&A to provide senior-level support through a critical planning and budgeting period. This is an immediate-start, 3-month contract with strong potential for extension, offering a hybrid work model with three days per week onsite in downtown Vancouver.
This individual will take a lead role in consolidated long-range planning and the annual budgeting process, providing an enterprise-wide view of financial performance, capital requirements, cash flow, liquidity and financing capacity. The role will work closely with senior finance and operational leaders across multiple regions and present key insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the consolidated 3-year long-range planning process, including financial performance, cash flow, capital requirements, liquidity and financing capacity.
- Lead the development and consolidation of the 2027 Annual Budget, integrating plans across North America, Latin America and Enterprise Operations.
- Review regional and functional plans at the consolidated level to ensure alignment with overall corporate and financial objectives.
- Evaluate financial assumptions and challenge inputs, identifying key risks, opportunities and areas requiring further analysis.
- Partner closely with Finance Business Partners and operational leadership across the organization.
- Assess capital constraints, available cash and overall funding capacity to support the organization's long-term plan.
- Prepare and present forward-looking financial analysis, scenarios, recommendations and executive-level materials.
- Perform sensitivity analysis across earnings, cash flow, capital investment, liquidity, commodity pricing and other key business drivers.
- Provide senior leadership with a holistic view of the organization's financial outlook and strategic capital priorities.
Ideal Background
- Extensive senior-level FP&A, corporate planning and financial analysis experience.
- Strong experience working at the consolidated enterprise level within a large, complex organization, ideally $1B+ in revenue.
- Mining or natural resources experience strongly preferred; candidates from similarly complex, capital-intensive industries may also be considered.
- Significant experience with long-range planning, annual budgeting, cash flow, liquidity and capital planning.
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and partnering with senior finance and operational stakeholders.
- Strong executive communication skills with experience preparing materials and presenting insights to senior leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment during a critical budgeting and planning cycle.
