Finance Systems Expert - D365 implementation

We are seeking a Finance Systems Expert with a strong accounting background and hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to support a finance-led system implementation. This role will bridge Finance and IT, ensuring the system is configured to meet accounting requirements, financial reporting needs, and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance from the accounting and finance perspective.
• Review and document existing accounting processes, workflows, and system requirements.
• Work with implementation consultants and internal stakeholders to translate accounting requirements into system functionality.
• Assist with configuration and validation of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, financial dimensions, and month-end close processes.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and reconciliation of financial data.
• Support data migration, chart of accounts mapping, and validation of opening balances and historical financial information.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
• Develop user documentation and provide training and support to finance team members during implementation and go-live.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background with experience in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, ideally in an implementation or system upgrade environment.
• Understanding of general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with system testing, data migration, reconciliations, and process documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Accounting designation (CPA) or progress toward a designation is an asset.
