Financial Analyst

📍 Waterloo Region (Hybrid)

I'm partnering with a well-established and growing organization to recruit a Financial Analyst who enjoys combining accounting, reporting, analysis, and business partnering in a dynamic environment.

This role offers exposure across multiple entities and business units, with the opportunity to work closely with finance leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting working papers in accordance with ASPE

• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances, trends, and business performance

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities

• Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and complex accounting transactions

• Develop ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support operational and strategic initiatives

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support business objectives and financial decision-making

• Assist with special projects and provide support during peak reporting periods

What We're Looking For

• CPA designation or CPA candidate (CFE completed ideal)

• 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

• Strong understanding of financial reporting and ASPE

• Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and complex spreadsheets

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• A proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
