Financial Controller – 6-Month Contract
Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a 6-month contract, working 3 days onsite per week. The successful candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting, strengthen financial controls, and provide insights to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and the integrity of financial records.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- CPA designation preferred, with strong experience in financial accounting and controllership.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is an asset.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
