Graphic Designer / CTP Prepress
North York, ON | $60,000–$65,000 | Full-Time, Onsite (7 am - 3:30 pm)
Our client, an established and growing organization within the printing and packaging industry, is seeking a Graphic Designer to join their team in North York. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with hands-on experience in a commercial printing, packaging or similar print-production environment who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of bringing artwork to print.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in graphic design and print production, with experience preparing artwork for production. Exposure to CTP/prepress operations is highly desirable; however, our client is open to training a strong Graphic Designer who brings the right printing-industry background.
Responsibilities:
- Create, modify and prepare artwork for print and packaging production
- Handle design, layout, typesetting and image manipulation
- Prepare production-ready files using Adobe Creative Suite
- Support prepress and CTP processes, including graphics and imposition
- Work across various print-production methods, including offset, digital and flexographic
- Collaborate closely with production colleagues and senior leadership
- Ensure artwork and files are accurate and ready for production
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of graphic design experience within a printing company, packaging company or similar print-production environment
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat
- Solid understanding of print production, design, layout and image preparation
- Packaging experience is strongly preferred
- CTP/prepress experience is a strong asset
- Experience within pharmaceutical or regulated packaging is an asset but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, collaborative and comfortable working in a hands-on production environment
