Original job description

Our client, a complex and highly diversified business operating throughout Canada and the U.S., is looking for a skilled HRIS Analyst to lead the administration and continuous improvement of its Workday environment.

With a recent Workday rollout now complete, the organization is moving into a new stage of HR systems maturity and is seeking a dedicated professional to help maximize the platform’s value. This individual will play a key role in system enhancement, process improvement, user support, integrations, and reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to serve as the internal Workday expert and collaborate closely with teams across HR, Payroll, Finance, and broader business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Administration and Continuous Improvement

Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of Workday modules such as Core HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, and Advanced Compensation.
Review and refine business processes, workflow routing, alerts, and approval paths.
Coordinate system updates, release testing, and enhancement activities.
Recommend and implement improvements that increase system effectiveness and overall user satisfaction.

Security and Data Management

Maintain security role assignments and access permissions within Workday.
Perform routine audits to ensure data accuracy and system integrity.
Assist with privacy standards and internal data governance practices.

Reporting and Workforce Analytics

Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
Provide business leaders with actionable workforce data and operational insights.
Respond to ad hoc reporting needs and support data-driven decision-making.

Integrations and System Support

Help support existing integrations and participate in future implementation and enhancement efforts.
Troubleshoot integration issues and assist with testing as needed.
Work with external partners and internal teams to strengthen system capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and convert business needs into scalable Workday solutions.
Deliver user training, system support, and process documentation.
Encourage adoption of new features and promote Workday best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
3–5+ years of experience in Workday administration, HRIS, or a Workday Analyst role.
Solid knowledge of Workday configuration and HR business process design.
Hands-on experience supporting Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, and Core HCM.
Familiarity with Workday security setup and report development.
Strong Excel capabilities and analytical skills.
Effective communicator with the ability to work across both technical and non-technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently.
