HR & Payroll Coordinator

Robert Half is recruiting on behalf of our client for an HR & Payroll Coordinator to support payroll, employee administration, and HR operations for a growing organization.

This role will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of payroll for approximately 70 employees, while serving as a key point of contact for employee questions, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and HR record management. The successful candidate will also help improve and document HR processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Process and administer payroll for approximately 70 employees, primarily hourly staff.
Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll changes, ROEs, T4s, vacation tracking, benefits administration, and WCB-related processes.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR matters.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR documentation is current and organized.
Coordinate employee benefits administration and support HR compliance requirements.
Document and improve HR and payroll procedures, creating SOPs, checklists, and process guides.
Work closely with leadership and an external HR consultant to implement HR initiatives and operational improvements.
Assist managers with maintaining and following established HR processes and policies.

Qualifications

Experience in payroll, HR administration, or a related role.
Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, and offboarding.
Experience processing hourly payroll.
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is considered an asset.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and improve processes.
