Original job description

This job posting is for two current vacancies with our client.

Our client, a well-established organization in the insurance and financial services industry, is seeking two experienced Senior Insurance Sales & Engagement Specialists to join their team in Toronto, Ontario.

This is an exciting opportunity for an LLQP-licensed insurance professional who enjoys combining consultative sales, relationship development, public speaking, and educational engagement.

Reporting to the department's leadership team, the successful candidates will play an important role in expanding market presence, strengthening relationships with healthcare professionals, and delivering valuable insurance education to medical students, residents, and early-career physicians.

Working collaboratively with internal sales teams, educational institutions, and professional organizations, these individuals will be responsible for developing and managing assigned territories across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. The positions offer a unique balance of business development, territory management, educational presentations, and relationship-building within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Following a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance in downtown Toronto on Wednesdays and Thursdays, along with approximately 30–50% travel across assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute territory sales and engagement strategies across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, identifying opportunities to expand market reach and strengthen relationships.
  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships with medical schools, residency programs, educational institutions, professional associations, and healthcare professionals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, relationship development, networking, and consultative sales activities.
  • Deliver engaging and informative insurance education presentations, both virtually and in person, to audiences ranging from small groups to more than 300 attendees.
  • Educate medical students, residents, and early-career healthcare professionals on insurance products and financial protection solutions, using an education-first, consultative approach.
  • Promote and sell insurance solutions while balancing sales objectives with the organization's commitment to unbiased education and member engagement.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, campus events, professional development sessions, and networking functions.
  • Coordinate and execute educational events, presentations, and territory engagement initiatives, including event planning, logistics, follow-up, and relationship nurturing.
  • Develop creative outreach strategies and identify opportunities to improve audience engagement, event participation, and territory performance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales representatives, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to align territory activities with broader organizational objectives.
  • Monitor sales activity, engagement metrics, presentation feedback, and event outcomes to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of territory activities, prospect interactions, and business development opportunities.
  • Adapt presentation styles, communication approaches, and engagement strategies to suit different audiences and professional settings.
  • Manage travel schedules and territory priorities independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to enhance sales processes, educational programming, and overall member experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) licence in Ontario is required. Additional licensing across Atlantic Canadian provinces is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of sales experience within the insurance industry, ideally involving life insurance, financial protection products, or related insurance solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing sales strategies, territory plans, or business development initiatives.
  • Exceptional presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills, with the confidence to engage audiences of varying sizes in both virtual and in-person environments.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and maintain professional relationships with clients, institutional partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to communicate insurance concepts clearly, professionally, and in an accessible manner.
  • Experience conducting educational presentations, workshops, information sessions, or client-facing training is highly desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30–50%, including occasional evenings, weekends, road travel, and flights across Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
  • Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel independently throughout assigned territories.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and territory planning skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage a geographically dispersed territory.
  • Proficiency with presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, or comparable tools.
  • Comfortable independently managing presentation technology, including laptops, audiovisual equipment, mobile hotspots, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with healthcare students, professionals, and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented sales environment.
  • Adaptability and comfort working within an evolving performance measurement framework, including developing KPIs and longer-term sales cycles.
  • A consistent professional employment history demonstrating commitment, accountability, and progressive development is preferred.
