Original job description

NB: This role is 5 days on-site in Calgary.

Our client is looking for a risk and compliance analyst. This role is responsible for enhanced due diligence and ongoing monitoring of higher risk merchants and operators, from onboarding through the life of the relationship.

What you'll do

Run enhanced due diligence at onboarding for every high-risk merchant and operator, verifying the risk factors that placed the relationship in the high-risk tier.

Maintain ongoing enhanced monitoring on the high-risk book between reviews, watching for changes in details or transaction behavior that would change a merchant's risk rating.

Own the periodic risk-based review cadence for existing high-risk clients, keeping every relationship current against its review due date.

Document EDD findings and review outcomes to the audit-trail standard, ready for exam or independent review.

Escalate any merchant or operator whose risk profile has deteriorated to the Compliance Manager, with a recommendation on continued relationship, enhanced conditions or offboarding.

Act as the point of contact for Customer Support and Merchant Ops on high-risk client relationships.

What you'll bring

3 to 5 years in enhanced due diligence, KYB/KYC, or merchant underwriting, ideally with exposure to a higher-risk vertical such as iGaming, money services, or payments.

Ability to read and assess beneficial ownership structures, corporate registries, and licensing documentation for operators across multiple jurisdictions.

Strong written documentation skills, producing clear, audit-ready EDD files.

CAMS or a KYC-focused certification is required
