About the Opportunity

Our client, a highly regarded national law firm, is seeking a Labour and Employment Lawyer (3+ years post-call) to join its practice in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer looking to work on sophisticated employment and labour matters while developing strong client relationships and gaining meaningful file responsibility in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Advise employer clients on a broad range of labour and employment law matters, including employment agreements, workplace policies, terminations, accommodations, human rights issues, workplace investigations, and employment standards compliance.
Represent clients in employment-related disputes, mediations, negotiations, labour arbitrations, tribunal proceedings, and litigation matters.
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documentation.
Provide practical, strategic, and business-focused advice tailored to client needs.
Manage files independently while collaborating with partners and other members of the practice group.
Assist with client development initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
3+ years of labour and employment law experience.
Experience advising employer-side clients on a variety of workplace issues.
Strong advocacy, negotiation, drafting, and legal research skills.
Experience handling employment disputes, workplace investigations, labour arbitrations, and human rights matters is considered an asset.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-management skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A strong work ethic, sound judgment, and commitment to client service.
