Marketing Manager

About the Company

Our client is a well-established organization operating in the global trade and logistics industry. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Marketing Manager to lead the marketing function, drive demand generation initiatives, strengthen brand positioning, and further develop the organization's CRM and marketing capabilities.

Reporting to the CFO, the Marketing Manager will play a critical role in supporting business growth through data-driven marketing initiatives, digital marketing excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. This position offers a unique combination of strategic leadership and day-to-day execution, making it ideal for a marketing professional who enjoys building, improving, and leading.

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing all marketing activities across the organization. The successful candidate will lead a small marketing team, manage external vendors and agencies, own the marketing budget, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership.

While the immediate focus will be on maintaining and optimizing existing marketing initiatives, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gradually introduce new ideas, enhance marketing processes, and support the organization's long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization's marketing strategy, annual marketing plans, and performance objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth priorities.
  • Lead demand generation initiatives by developing and optimizing campaigns, customer journeys, lead nurturing programs, and pipeline management processes that drive qualified leads and revenue growth.
  • Own and continuously enhance the company's HubSpot ecosystem, including CRM architecture, workflows, automation, lead scoring, segmentation, dashboards, reporting, and data governance practices.
  • Drive digital marketing performance across website management, SEO, paid advertising, social media, email marketing, and other digital channels, maximizing visibility, engagement, lead generation, and return on investment.
  • Analyze marketing performance, customer insights, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and support strategic business decisions.
  • Maintain and strengthen brand positioning by overseeing content creation, marketing collateral, presentations, internal communications, and brand consistency across all customer and employee touchpoints.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget of approximately $500,000 and oversee relationships with external agencies and vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and measurable business impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the marketing team while fostering strong collaboration with stakeholders across various business units and departments.
  • Present marketing results, strategic initiatives, and recommendations to senior leadership, helping guide future business and marketing priorities.
  • Oversee promotional merchandise programs, conferences, trade shows, corporate events, and branded assets, ensuring alignment with company standards and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of progressive marketing experience, including both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading marketing functions and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong background in demand generation, lead management, marketing automation, and pipeline development.
  • Experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms, ideally HubSpot Marketing Hub and Sales Hub.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, including SEO, paid media, website optimization, social media, and analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, agencies, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline is considered an asset; equivalent experience will also be considered.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. They are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, can effectively prioritize competing demands, and possess the confidence to make recommendations while collaborating closely with senior leadership.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • A collaborative and approachable leadership style.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and drive initiatives forward.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • An interesting and competitive base salary
  • An annual performance bonus of up to 12%
  • Three weeks of vacation
  • Three personal days
  • Up to five paid sick days
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
  • Pension matching program of up to 3%
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Company-provided equipment

Work Environment

  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Shared Services.
  • Leads a small marketing team currently consisting of two marketing professionals.
  • Opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and influence organizational growth initiatives.
  • Occasional travel required for conferences, trade shows, and corporate events (approximately one to two trips per year).
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment with the ability to make a meaningful impact on business performance and brand growth.
