We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our clients team in an in-office capacity. This role is responsible for the accurate processing of payroll and benefits administration, serving as a key point of contact for employees on time and attendance, payroll, and benefits-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding time and attendance, payroll inquiries, and related concerns
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Enter and validate employee data, including new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefit deductions, and garnishments
- Provide administrative support for all benefit programs
- Process employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in the HRIS and with carriers as required
- Support HR in communicating benefit information and assisting employees with related inquiries
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and benefits with a strong focus on customer service
- Support compliance with payroll and benefits-related legislative and regulatory requirements across Canada and the US, escalating questions or changes to the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor as needed
- Perform other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- 4-5+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or benefits administration
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) certification or working toward completion, an asset
- Experience with payroll processing across both Canadian and US jurisdictions preferred
- Working knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-office environment
