We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This is an excellent 6-month contract within the transport industry, where you will play a key role in performing full-cycle accounting operations and contributing to financial accuracy and process improvements. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is adept at managing complex financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, month-end close processes, and general ledger maintenance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate inventory management and compliance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal control systems and business processes to meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and enhance organizational performance.
- Partner with the FP&A team for analyses and provide insights into financial trends.
- Implement strategies for continuous process improvement to enhance financial workflows.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all accounting and reporting functions.
- Serve as a point of contact for financial audits and year-end reporting.
The successful Senior Accountant will have the following:
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems similar to NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft D365
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
- Strong understanding of internal controls and cross-functional collaboration between operations and accounting.
- Proven ability to work independently and suggest effective solutions.
- Solid background in full-cycle accounting and financial analysis.
- Experience in manufacturing or transport industries is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
