Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This is an excellent 6-month contract within the transport industry, where you will play a key role in performing full-cycle accounting operations and contributing to financial accuracy and process improvements. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is adept at managing complex financial systems.

Responsibilities:

Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, month-end close processes, and general ledger maintenance.

Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate inventory management and compliance.

Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal control systems and business processes to meet regulatory standards.

Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and enhance organizational performance.

Partner with the FP&A team for analyses and provide insights into financial trends.

Implement strategies for continuous process improvement to enhance financial workflows.

Ensure accuracy and compliance in all accounting and reporting functions.

Serve as a point of contact for financial audits and year-end reporting.

The successful Senior Accountant will have the following:

CPA designation required

Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems similar to NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft D365

Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups

Strong understanding of internal controls and cross-functional collaboration between operations and accounting.

Proven ability to work independently and suggest effective solutions.

Solid background in full-cycle accounting and financial analysis.

Experience in manufacturing or transport industries is considered an asset.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
