Senior Financial Analyst

A GTA-based NFP organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis, this role will be responsible for financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, process improvement, and supporting strategic finance initiatives.

Responsibilities

Reporting & Consolidation

• Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for multiple business units.
• Support consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and reporting.
• Prepare cash flow reporting and monitor liquidity requirements.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Deliver monthly reporting packages for senior leadership.
• Ensure timely completion of external and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes.
• Support ERP and reporting system enhancements.
• Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and process documentation.

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare audit schedules, working papers, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with implementation of new accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Research accounting treatment for complex transactions and prepare supporting memos.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.

Budgeting

• Support the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.

Projects

• Assist with board reporting, special projects, and ongoing process improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• CPA designation or working toward CPA completion.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting, reporting, or finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience within healthcare, not-for-profit, or multi-entity environments.
• Exposure to financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, and financial analysis.
