Original job description

This job posting is for a current vacancy with our client.

Our client, an established organization in the financial services and investment management industry, is seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Graphic Designer to join their Marketing and Creative Services team. This opportunity is ideal for a highly creative, proactive professional with strong graphic design, social media, video editing, and motion graphics experience, ideally within financial services, investment management, or a professional services environment.

Working closely with senior creative leadership, this individual will play a key role in developing engaging visual content across print, digital, social media, web, and video. The successful candidate will help elevate the organization's visual identity, translate complex financial information into compelling creative assets, and independently manage projects from concept through execution. This is a hands-on opportunity within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment offering creative autonomy, diverse projects, and exposure to multiple business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and produce high-quality print and digital marketing materials, including investment brochures, product fact sheets, presentations, reports, advertisements, and campaign assets.
Develop engaging social media content across organic and paid channels, maintaining a consistent and recognizable brand identity.
Create and edit video content, including promotional videos, interviews, webinars, investment commentary, and short-form social media clips.
Produce motion graphics, animations, and multimedia assets using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related creative tools.
Translate complex financial concepts, market insights, and investment information into visually compelling charts, infographics, and presentations.
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns, product launches, digital initiatives, and corporate communications.
Design creative assets for industry events and conferences, including banners, booth graphics, signage, and promotional materials.
Develop and maintain brand guidelines, templates, and visual design systems to ensure consistency across marketing channels.
Support website design, landing pages, and digital content updates, applying strong visual design and user experience principles.
Collaborate with marketing, creative leadership, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality creative solutions.
Manage multiple design projects independently, balancing competing priorities, deadlines, and evolving business needs.
Ensure all creative materials meet brand standards, quality expectations, and compliance requirements within a regulated environment.

What They're Looking For

5+ years of professional graphic design experience, with demonstrated expertise across print, digital, social media, and video.
Strong hands-on experience with video editing, motion graphics, and multimedia content creation.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with experience using Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Experience developing social media campaigns, branded content, and cohesive visual identities across digital platforms.
Background in financial services, investment management, banking, insurance, legal, accounting, consulting, or another professional services environment strongly preferred.
Strong portfolio showcasing sophisticated graphic design, social media content, video editing, and corporate marketing materials.
Experience creating professional presentations, infographics, charts, and data visualizations.
Strong PowerPoint design capabilities and an understanding of visual storytelling and information hierarchy.
Familiarity with web design, responsive layouts, and UX/UI principles.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accuracy in a regulated environment.
Proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated approach, with the ability to independently manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Non-Negotiables

Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience.
Hands-on video editing and motion graphics experience, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or comparable professional tools.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality print, digital, and social media design, ideally including video content.
Demonstrated ability to take creative projects from initial concept through final production.
Strong understanding of brand consistency, visual identity, and corporate marketing communications.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to work onsite in downtown Toronto four days per week, with flexibility for potential changes to the onsite work arrangement.

Nice to Have

Experience within asset management, wealth management, ETFs, investment firms, or financial marketing.
Background in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, legal, or accounting services.
Experience creating financial reports, investment fact sheets, product brochures, or compliance-sensitive marketing materials.
Advanced motion graphics, animation, and short-form social media video production experience.
Experience developing social media brand identities, templates, and design systems.
Proficiency in Figma and experience with web design or UX/UI.
Experience creating financial data visualizations, charts, and infographics.
Exposure to event branding, conference materials, and large-format print production.
Copywriting or content development experience.
Experience working within lean marketing teams or entrepreneurial organizations.
