Original job description

We are looking for a strong Tax Manager, or Senior Tax Analyst level candidate to join our client to support them for the next 6 months with various tax requirements and upcoming deadlines.

Responsibilities

Manage indirect tax compliance, including US and Canadian sales taxes filings, exemption governance, and refund initiatives.
Support company’s worldwide research and development tax credit applications and filings, collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to ensure the accuracy and justifiability of claims.
Oversee Canadian income tax provision and compliance.
Manage external and regulatory audits and examinations as required, ensuring appropriate audit documentation is available.
Collaborate with operational teams to provide practical, solution-oriented tax guidance on commercial transactions and corporate growth.
Identify tax planning opportunities and operational improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and automation in an expanding and growing business.

Qualifications

Designated accountant with 3-5 years of tax experience and open to someone coming out from public practice and ideally a candidate with public practice and industry experience.
Indirect sales tax experience (especially US sales and state tax).
Experience with T2 tax returns and SRED tax filings.
