Original job description

Build, Fix, and Keep Things Moving

At Robert’s Equipment, we don’t just service machines - we keep farms running, projects moving, and communities supported.

Since day one, we’ve built our reputation on being Reputable. Reliable. Resourceful. It’s not just a tagline - it’s how we show up for our customers every day across agriculture, construction, residential, and municipal sectors.

Now, we’re looking for a skilled Heavy/Agriculture Equipment Technician at our Mount Forest, ON location.

Why This Role Matters

As a Technician at Robert’s Equipment, you’re not just turning wrenches - you’re solving real problems for customers who depend on their equipment to get the job done. Your expertise keeps their operations running smoothly and efficiently. Whether you’re in the shop or out in the field, you’ll be trusted to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment - and to do it right.

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day brings something different, but in this role you’ll:

Diagnose and repair agricultural and heavy equipment in a shop environment
Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues with accuracy and efficiency
Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating at its best
Test, adjust, and rebuild components (engines, PTOs, axles, and more)
Weld and fabricate parts when needed
Communicate clearly with customers about issues, timelines, and solutions
Create accurate repair quotes and maintain detailed service records
Keep your workspace, tools, and company vehicles in top shape
Continue learning through manufacturer training and certifications

What You Bring

You’re someone who takes pride in your work and enjoys figuring out how things work - and how to fix them when they don’t.

Experience working with heavy or agricultural equipment
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Clear communication and a customer-first mindset
Comfortable working with both mechanical and electronic systems
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs

Required:

Diploma or Certificate in Heavy Equipment or Agriculture Equipment Technician (or equivalent experience)
Valid G Driver’s License

What You’ll Get

We believe great work deserves great rewards
$35–$40/hour, based on experience
Bi-weekly bonus pay
Flexible extended health, dental, and vision benefits
Life insurance
RRSP/TFSA matching
Employee store discounts
Ongoing training and development opportunities

A Lifestyle Worth Moving For

If you’re not already local, this role offers a unique chance to relocate to one of Ontario’s most scenic regions. Grey-Bruce, Huron, and Wellington counties offer:

Affordable housing
Strong, welcoming communities
Short commutes and less daily stress
Access to beaches, trails, and outdoor recreation
It’s a lifestyle that gives you more time for what matters - without sacrificing career growth.

Ready to Join the Team?

If you’re looking for a hands-on career where your skills are valued, your growth is supported, and your work truly matters - we’d love to hear from you.
