The Client:
Our client is an established manufacturing organization operating as part of a larger, publicly traded industrial group. With a strong focus on precision-engineered products, operational excellence, and financial discipline, the organization offers an opportunity to lead site-level finance activities while partnering with operations and corporate leadership. This is a confidential search.
What you will achieve in this role:
- Lead the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting function, providing guidance and oversight to a small finance team.
- Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and timely, accurate financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and balance sheet integrity.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and asset valuation requirements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting, translating results into clear recommendations for management.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, product mix, and operating variances to identify risks and opportunities for improved profitability.
- Partner with plant operations and corporate finance to support business decisions, working capital management, and process improvements.
- Coordinate audit activities and support tax, treasury, and other corporate reporting requirements.
- Strengthen financial processes, reporting accuracy, controls, and automation, including effective use of ERP systems.
- Progressive experience in accounting and finance, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with the ability to own a full accounting close and financial reporting cycle.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, balance sheet accounting, and management reporting.
- Demonstrated capability in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost or margin analysis.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading accounting and finance staff, or clear readiness to step into a formal leadership role.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; Sage X3 exposure is an asset.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation or progress toward completion is an asset.
- Confident communicator who can collaborate effectively with operations, senior leadership, and corporate stakeholders.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with sound judgment, accountability, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Ability to work onsite in Uxbridge, Ontario, five days per week.
This posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current open position.
