Job Title: Senior Software Developer / Technical Architect (.NET / C# / Angular)
Location: Ottawa, ON – Onsite
Contract: 48 weeks, full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Overview
We are currently looking for a Senior Software Developer / Technical Architect to support a Federal Government defence application environment. The successful candidate will support the continued development and sustainment of an established enterprise application, including implementation, configuration, enhancements, bug fixes and technical documentation.

An active Government of Canada SECRET clearance is mandatory for this opportunity.
The environment includes classified/protected information and Controlled Goods requirements.

Project Background

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop system features within established architecture, concepts and patterns
  • Review software requirements and technical issues and recommend solutions
  • Identify and resolve complex technical problems
  • Analyse and verify software/code against requirements
  • Troubleshoot bugs and enhance existing code
  • Architect solutions to improve system performance
  • Design, code and configure application deployment methods
  • Support application deployments within Canadian Forces network environments
  • Set up, maintain and manage servers, database servers and application servers
  • Set up, maintain and manage the Azure DevOps development environment
  • Prepare regression testing documentation
  • Perform application upgrades
  • Provide technical support to users
  • Produce technical documentation supporting disaster recovery and ongoing in-service support ,
Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate:
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the last 5 years as a Technical Architect
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the last 5 years with ALL of the following:
    • .NET Framework / C#
    • Angular
    • NoSQL
    • Agile development
Candidates should ensure their resume clearly demonstrates where, when and how the required experience was obtained rather than simply listing the technologies.

Additional Relevant Technical Experience
Strong candidates will also bring hands-on experience with technologies and responsibilities used in the application environment, including:
  • Azure DevOps
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • MongoDB
  • REST APIs / Web Services
  • Solr
  • SignalR
  • RabbitMQ
  • Azure Portal
  • Application architecture and performance improvements
  • Server and database server management
  • Troubleshooting and bug fixing

  • Deployment within secure network environments
Security Requirements
  • Active Government of Canada SECRET clearance
  • Ability to work within an environment involving Controlled Goods
  • Ability to work onsite in Ottawa
Language
English Essential – Intermediate oral, comprehension and written proficiency.

Responsibilities
