Reporting to the Outbound Manager, the Inbound / Outbound Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily warehouse operations to ensure products and customer orders are received, processed, stored, picked, packed, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately.
What you will do:
- Coordinate daily inbound and outbound warehouse activities, including receiving, unloading, inspection, verification, put-away, order fulfillment, picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping operations.
- Monitor inbound shipment schedules, receiving queues, order volumes, and shipping schedules to ensure products and customer orders are processed accurately and within established timelines.
- Prioritize and coordinate daily workflows based on delivery schedules, customer requirements, inventory needs, operational capacity, and business priorities.
- Ensure inbound shipments and outbound orders are accurately received, verified, processed, picked, packed, labeled, documented, and completed in accordance with company standards and operational procedures.
- Coordinate shipment appointments and maintain communication with suppliers, transportation providers, carriers, branches, purchasing teams, customer service teams, and other internal stakeholders.
- Prepare, review, and maintain receiving and shipping documentation, including purchase orders, transfer records, packing slips, bills of lading, manifests, discrepancy reports, and inventory transaction records.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipment status and proactively address delays, shortages, overages, damages, quality concerns, shipping exceptions, and service issues.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Transportation, and branch teams to investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, order fulfillment issues, supplier concerns, inventory variances, and customer inquiries.
- Verify warehouse and inventory transactions are completed accurately within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ensure inventory records are maintained and updated appropriately.
- Support inventory accuracy through transaction verification, inventory investigations, variance resolution, and adherence to established inventory control processes.
- Coordinate the timely movement of products throughout the distribution centre to support operational flow, inventory availability, and customer service objectives.
- Monitor key operational performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, service levels, productivity, dock utilization, and inventory performance.
- Communicate daily priorities, workload requirements, staffing needs, and operational expectations to warehouse associates and operational teams.
- Support employee onboarding and training related to warehouse operations, inventory transactions, equipment operation, safety practices, and company procedures.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Assist with operational audits, reporting requirements, inventory investigations, and compliance-related activities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Escalate operational concerns, service issues, inventory risks, supplier performance concerns, and capacity challenges to Distribution Centre leadership as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Outbound Manager or Director, Distribution Operations.
About you:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain operations, preferably within a wholesale distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and product flow management.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and operational excellence.
- Understanding of warehouse health and safety requirements and best practices.
- Forklift and material handling equipment experience is considered an asset.
