Editor-in-Chief
About Robot24.com
Robot24.com is the global news platform for the robotics industry.
Dedicated exclusively to robotics, we cover the industry globally through our editorial teams, journalists, correspondents, and field teams across continents.
From breaking news and robot launches to business developments, market analysis, comparisons, investigations, and exclusive reporting, Robot24.com covers what is happening across the global robotics industry.
Our teams report directly from robotics companies, factories, research facilities, industry events, and real-world deployments around the world.
Our ambition is clear: to be the global leader for news in the robotics industry.
We are looking for an exceptional Editor-in-Chief to lead our entire editorial operation from Dubai.
The Role
This is a highly hands-on editorial leadership position.
You will lead both our Business Editorial and General Editorial teams and take responsibility for the complete editorial output of Robot24.com - across our website, social media, video content, and global field reporting.
You will oversee what is researched, written, assigned, filmed, published, and distributed every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our Business Editorial and General Editorial teams and set daily editorial priorities.
- Oversee breaking news, business journalism, market analysis, comparisons, investigations, interviews, and original reporting.
- Identify important stories and develop strong, original editorial angles rather than simply repeating existing coverage.
- Work closely with our Assignment Team, journalists, correspondents, and international Field Teams to plan stories and shoots around the world.
- Develop, review, and approve editorial briefs and shoot briefs, defining the story angle, questions, required footage, interviews, and expected deliverables before assignments.
- Oversee the editorial quality of content coming back from correspondents and Field Teams and ensure the original story and brief have been properly executed.
- Take editorial responsibility for our social media carousels - from topic and structure to copy, storytelling, headlines, and final quality control.
- Oversee and improve video concepts, hooks, scripts, headlines, captions, social copy, opening and closing lines, and story angles.
- Ensure our social content is informative, engaging, platform-specific, and built for strong reach and viral potential without compromising accuracy.
- Work closely with our video, social, production, and publishing teams to ensure editorial direction is maintained from initial idea through final publication.
- Maintain oversight of Robot24.com, ensuring the website is accurate, up to date, relevant, professionally written, and consistently maintained.
- Ensure important stories are published quickly and maintain a clear overview of what is live, what is in production, and what is still missing.
- Maintain high standards for sourcing, verification, fact-checking, storytelling, and journalistic quality.
- Use performance and audience data to continuously improve topics, formats, hooks, carousels, and storytelling.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing international editorial team.
Who We Are Looking For
We need an experienced editorial leader who combines serious journalism, strong business understanding, excellent leadership, and deep social-media expertise.
You should be equally comfortable reviewing an investigative article, challenging a market analysis, briefing a correspondent for an international shoot, improving a carousel, rewriting a headline or caption, and recognizing immediately when a video hook isn’t strong enough.
You should have:
- Significant experience in journalism, digital media, publishing, or a major news organization
- Proven experience leading editors, journalists, writers, and content teams
- Excellent news judgment and editorial instincts
- Experience with business journalism, market analysis, investigative journalism, or technology reporting
- Experience working with Assignment Teams, journalists, correspondents, and Field Teams
- Experience developing and reviewing editorial and shoot briefs
- Deep understanding of social media, carousels, short-form video, hooks, captions, headlines, and viral storytelling
- Strong understanding of digital publishing and newsroom workflows
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, verification, and fact-checking
- Ability to manage multiple teams, assignments, and content streams simultaneously in a fast-moving newsroom
- Fluent English at a professional/native-level standard
Previous robotics experience is an advantage, but not essential. Exceptional editorial judgment, leadership ability, business understanding, and social-first thinking are more important.
Location
Dubai, UAE - Full-Time, On-Site
We are not looking for an Editor-in-Chief who only thinks in articles or manages the newsroom from a distance.
We are looking for someone who wants to be at the center of the editorial operation every day - connecting our newsroom, Assignment Team, journalists, global Field Teams, website, social media, and video operation.
Someone who can ensure that everything carrying the Robot24.com name - from a five-minute market analysis to a ten-slide carousel or a 20-second video - meets the same editorial standard.
And someone who wants to help build Robot24.com into the global leader for news in the robotics industry.
