Job Overview
Rockport Commercial is hiring an experienced Class 3 Garbage Truck Driver (Front-Load) for our in-house team. You will work strictly on internal projects and properties (apartments, townhouses, commercial spaces) owned and managed by Rockport Investment Group across Winnipeg. This is steady, year-round work with zero seasonal winter layoffs.
Key Responsibilities

Garbage Truck Operation: Safely operate a commercial front-load garbage truck to approach, lift, and empty permanent waste and recycling containers (dumpsters) at our multi-family and commercial properties.

Precision Driving & Maneuvering: Masterfully navigate tight residential lanes, parking lots, and alleyways to safely line up hydraulic forks with dumpster sleeves without damaging overhead lines, property structures, or vehicle enclosures.

Help Anywhere: Work flexibly in a small crew. Be willing to step out of the cab to assist with hand-rolling bins, cleaning up loose debris around enclosure areas, or general site maintenance.

Winter Work: Maintain consistent, full-time hours through the Winnipeg winter handling regular property waste removal and navigating snow-packed enclosure tracks.

Compliance: Perform mandatory daily pre-trip/post-trip circle check inspections and maintain accurate logbooks in strict accordance with the Manitoba Safety Fitness Certificate (SFC) program.
Qualifications & Manitoba Requirements

Licence: Valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brakes (A Endorsement) is mandatory.

Abstract: Clean commercial driver's abstract required (eligible for company insurance clearance).

Vehicle Experience: Proven experience operating a commercial front-load refuse vehicle. Experience with hydraulic fork controls and automated packing systems is highly valued.

Technical Skill: Ability to read and interpret basic site blueprints and property maps to navigate dumpster layouts safely in tight residential spaces.

Physical Demand: Must be physically fit to constantly enter/exit the cab, hook/unhook heavy container mechanisms when necessary, and work outdoors in changing Winnipeg weather conditions.
