Original job description

About Us:
At Rodan Energy, our mission is Making Sustainable, Attainable. As a leading North American energy services company, we provide innovative energy solutions that help clients reduce energy costs and GHG emissions, support electrification, and enhance grid efficiency. With over 20 years of expertise, we’re trusted by North America’s largest energy users, power producers, and utilities.

Why Join Rodan:

Thriving Industry: Join a rapidly growing sector at the forefront of innovation and sustainability, shaping the future of energy management.
Product Market Fit: With a 98% client retention rate and consistent YOY growth, Rodan has built a reputation for delivering trusted, long-term partnerships with industry leaders.
Top Talent & Strong Culture: Collaborate with high-performing, passionate individuals who are committed to excellence and sustainability.

What Makes This Role Great:

High-Impact Sales Role with Clear Growth Opportunity: You’ll play a key role in expanding Rodan’s footprint by building strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. With a focus on both strategic growth and solution-based selling, your efforts will directly impact revenue and client success across the energy sector.
Sell Solutions That Make a Difference: You’ll represent trusted energy solutions that help clients reduce costs, improve reliability, and meet their sustainability goals. This is your chance to make a real impact by solving meaningful challenges in a fast-changing industry.
Poised for Personal and Professional Growth: This is more than just a sales role - it’s a launchpad for growth. As Rodan expands across Canada and the U.S., you’ll have the opportunity to grow your territory, your earnings, and your career.
High Autonomy, Backed by Support: You’ll have the freedom to manage your pipeline and accounts with the support of a collaborative team, sales leadership, and marketing resources. We give you the tools and trust you need to succeed.
Resources for Success: Access to a strong CRM, marketing support, technical subject matter experts, and an operations team that ensures smooth service delivery - so you can focus on building relationships and closing deals.

What You’ll Be Selling:

You will sell FlexOps, Rodan's integrated market operations service, to owners of utility-scale batteries and generation. FlexOps covers SCADA integration and commissioning, automated dispatch, day-ahead and real-time bidding, operating reserve, 24/7 operations, and settlement validation - delivered under multi-year contracts that combine fixed fees with performance-based revenue sharing. You will also introduce GridOps metering and SettlementIQ where they fit. Your buyers are CEOs, CFOs, Chief Commercial Officers, and heads of asset management at independent power producers and storage owners.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive on target business growth with new and existing clients in the power producer sector.
Fundamental to this will be identifying target accounts, developing them as prospects and closing them as customers. You will receive support from the marketing, customer success, and revenue operations teams, however, you are expected to independently identify prospects, cold call, and establish key relationships.
Develop a personal sales strategy and manage a pipeline to meet corporate business goals.
Lead proposal development with support from our team of solution engineers, finance, energy markets, technology, and other professionals to deliver valuable business solutions for our customers.
Provide input and guidance on the development of new solutions and services.
Initiate, maintain, and cultivate strategic partnerships to increase sales and broaden service offerings.
As the electricity market evolves, customers need sophisticated solutions. You are an experienced “hunter” who can excel at complex technical solution sales.
Your goal will be to help our clients optimize their facilities with behind the meter DERs to maximize their revenue opportunities, enhance power reliability, factor and quality, and achieve sustainability targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

8 or more years in enterprise sales, business development or advisory work, with a record of winning multi-year service or software contracts with power producers, utilities or energy asset owners
A background in battery or generation optimization, energy trading and market operations services, or strategy consulting to power producers and utilities
Existing senior relationships at Ontario power producers and storage owners. You open executive doors yourself.
A working command of battery storage economics: capacity contracts, energy arbitrage, operating reserve and ancillary services, and how an optimizer adds revenue above the contracted base
The ability to make the case to outsource optimization rather than build it in-house, in terms of asset revenue and portfolio returns
A disciplined, measurable prospecting cadence. You create opportunities rather than wait for RFPs.

Rodan Compensation & Benefits Include:

Profit sharing
Compensation $140,000 -$175,000 base $250,000+ OTE, uncapped commission, commission paid upfront, with additional accelerators for overachievement
Comprehensive health benefits package
Group RRSP with employer matching

Life at Rodan – Our Culture:
At Rodan, we believe a great workplace goes beyond the work itself. Recognized as Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employer of 2025, we’ve built a culture rooted in collaboration, celebration, and giving back. Here’s what you can look forward to when you join the team:

Summer Fun: Annual summer BBQ and half-day Fridays throughout the summer so you can enjoy the season.
Celebrations Throughout the Year: We mark occasions and holidays all year long with team events including holiday parties, team dinners, bowling nights, go-karting, golf tournaments, and more.
Learning & Growth: Lunch and learns, crossword challenges, and education-funding programs to keep you sharp and growing in your career.
Giving Back: Our Employee Initiatives Committee (EIC) organizes food drives and fundraising for local charities throughout the year – and everyone is welcome to get involved.

Apply Now: If you’re a strategic leader passionate about innovation and driving growth in a rapidly evolving industry, we want to hear from you!

Hiring Process
Rodan Energy's hiring process is designed to identify candidates who are the right fit - technically, culturally, and professionally. As part of our process, candidates should be aware of the following:

Background Check: As part of our hiring process, the successful candidate will be required to complete a background check, which may include a criminal record check, credential verification, and a driver's abstract (if applicable). Professional references will also be collected as part of the process.
Assignment: Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical assignment. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your strategic thinking, creativity, and approach to real-world challenges relevant to the role.

We respect your time and will provide clear instructions and reasonable timelines for any assignments requested.

Referral Bonus: Do you know someone who would be a great fit for our team? We are offering a CAD $2,500 referral bonus for successful referrals that lead to a hire for this role, effective until further notice. Please connect with Andrew Martinez at andrew.martinez@rodanenergy.com.

Rodan Energy Solutions is committed to an inclusive, accessible recruitment and employment experience in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). Accommodations are available upon request throughout the hiring process and, if hired, during employment. If you require an accommodation, please contact Asmin.Shadir@rodanenergy.com so we can work with you to meet your needs in a manner that respects dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity.

[AB1]In general we’ll match employee bonus but may increase on occasion for tough to fill roles for both internal and external.
