Original job description
Your Day-to-Day:
You'll work across the full development lifecycle - analyzing requirements, designing architecture, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining the SaaS applications and automation systems that power Roomvu.
Some days are deep in a media-processing pipeline with FFmpeg; some are building a RESTful API or an MCP server that hands Roomvu's data to an AI agent; some are tuning a Postgres query or a Kubernetes deployment.
You own what you build, from architecture discussion to production.
What You'll Actually Do
• Analyze requirements and write technical specs, architecture designs, and system documentation
• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable full stack applications and backend services
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and third-party platforms
• Build and maintain media-processing workflows - video generation, rendering, image processing
• Design and optimize relational databases, cloud infrastructure, and containerized environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Build MCP servers connecting Roomvu's internal APIs to AI agents
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve reliability, scalability, and performance
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and code reviews
You Have
• Bachelor's in Software Engineering, CS, IT, or related field
• 3+ years professional full stack software engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, API development, and relational databases
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and CI/CD workflows
• Experience building scalable SaaS, automation systems, or multimedia processing
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Based in British Columbia or able to commute to Vancouver (4 days in-office)
Bonus Points
• Experience with FFmpeg, MoviePy, or video/image processing pipelines
• AI tooling experience - LLM APIs, MCP servers, agentic systems
• Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code depth
• Real estate, marketing, or B2B SaaS industry background
• Open-source contributions or side projects that show range.
