Graduate/postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related computer degree.

Required Skills, Experience, & Abilities

10+ years of experience in Java development.
Extensive experience building distributed, service-oriented, microservice-style, and cloud-based architectures using AWS/Amazon, ECS, Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience implementing RESTful services.
Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix Shell.
Extensive experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, SonarQube, and Bitbucket.
Strong understanding of different storage architectures and their appropriate application.
Experience building modern Spring applications with Spring Boot.
Experience with software development SDLC using Agile methodologies.
Excellent knowledge of multithreading and thread pools, with strong OOP and OOAD skills.
Experience developing real-time, low-latency applications.
Exposure to or experience with message-driven architectures, including Kafka and EMS.
Strong verbal, written, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Goal-, client-, and deadline-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.
Ability to take initiative, work productively with limited supervision, and multitask across concurrent projects.
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.

Desired Skills, Experience, & Abilities

Prior investment banking risk system experience is highly desirable.
Experience with message brokers.
Exposure to or experience with Clojure is a significant plus.

Job Overview

The Technology Team is seeking a Lead Development Analyst with a proven track record of delivering complex enterprise software solutions. The role involves extensive Java development, microservices, cloud computing using AWS, and containerization technologies including OpenShift and Kubernetes. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in implementing strategic Risk Systems for Global Spread Products and will work within a large, globally distributed development team in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. This highly visible position provides exposure to the Spread Products business, regular interaction with business stakeholders and global IT teams, and involvement in important projects supporting the Spread Products Risk and Capital function. The role offers an opportunity to play a key part in the long-term strategic technology roadmap and requires strong teamwork, collaboration, responsibility, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

Participate strongly in the design of server components and develop components using Java.
Plan software releases.
Provide second-level support for applications.
Work with business analysts and stakeholders to interpret business requirements and create system designs based on those requirements.
Develop thorough test cases to validate the codebase.
Apply software engineering best practices to deliver high-quality applications that solve complex business problems.
Work collaboratively with Front Office GSP Trading Desks, Middle Office, Regulatory Reform, and dependent Technology teams across Trade, Risk, and Shared Services.
