Department/Unit/Program Description
The Operating Room performs elective and emergency surgery on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and support staff work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient.

Position Summary
The Operating Room is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Registered Practical Nurse to join their team.
Effective: October 5, 2026
Essential Qualifications
- Operating Room Certificate from an accredited educational facility
- Current RPN Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- At least 3 years current Operating Room nursing experience
- Knowledge of ORNAC and IPAC standards
- Ability to scrub in all areas
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families and
other healthcare professionals
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Computer knowledge and skills
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands
Analysis
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to function as a team member
- Ability to respond to urgent/emergent situations
- Must be willing to take call and be available to reach the hospital within 20 minutes
Preferred Qualifications
- Trained in EPIC - training can be provided, but must pass required testing.
Hours of Work
Must be available to work a variety of eight (8) hour shifts Monday to Sunday, days, evenings, nights, weekends, including statutory holidays and on-call. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
