Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time position based onsite in Woodbridge, ON. The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing. This role will manage financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and assist with variance analysis to provide meaningful insights to leadership. The Senior Accountant will maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, support internal and external audits, and help refine accounting policies and procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities also include collaborating with cross-functional teams, resolving accounting issues, and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and financial controls.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess 5 to 15 years of technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for a Canadian based company.
- Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting and ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, MS Dynamics) as well as solid Excel and spreadsheet skills. MS Dynamic experience is required.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and audit processes, including support for internal controls and documentation.
- Candidates should possess strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or progress toward certification is preferred.
- Relevant experience includes several years in an accounting role with increasing responsibility, ideally in multi-entity or multi-industry environments.
